- Marcia Yvonne Martin Schwiening, 74, of Roosevelt, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2007.
Rosary was held on Tuesday, April 17, at Graham Funeral Chapel, and funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 18, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Roosevelt.
Marcia was born on May 10, 1932, to Albert and Mary Martin. After living in West Texas for many years,they returned to the family ranch in Kimble County where she lived until her death.
Marcia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. She lived her life for her five children, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She loved every one of them unconditionally and without judgment.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gary Schwiening. She is also survived by her children, Grant Schwiening of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rick and Vickie Schwiening of Eldorado, Greta and Paul Ramsdell of Roosevelt, Bryan and Mary Kay Schwiening of Dripping Springs and Tibba and James Edmondson of Sonora.
Her grandchildren include Codi and Darren Morrison, Hallie and Jess Martin, Reese Schwiening, Darby and Delaney Ramsdell, Adrienne Reinert, Mayci Schwiening, Lindsey Schwiening, Nicholas Reinert, Taya Schwiening, Allyse and Tyler Edmondson. Great-grandchildren include Jack Martin and Ava Schwiening.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Albert Martin, Jr. of Villanova, Pennsylvania.



Julie Neigut Bourne


- Julie Neigut Bourne, 48, passed away at her home on March 17, 2007, after a courageous fight with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her son, Stephen, 16; her daughter, Annie, 14; her parents, Joseph and Bern Neigut; her brothers, Stephen and Joseph Neigut, and one sister, Deborah Neigut. Julie.s father, Dr. Joseph Neigut, began his practice of medicine in Junction. The family moved to San Antonio in 1961. In 1973, Dr. and Mrs. Neigut gave the present Kimble County Library to the people of Kimble County. The Neiguts will be remembered by friends in the Kimble County area.



Porfirio “Pilo” Castillo

Porfirio .Pilo. Castillo, 77, of Portales, New Mexico, died Saturday, April 7, 2007, in Lubbock. He was born February 26, 1930. He married Manuela Rodriguez on November 16, 1949. Services were held on Wednesday and Thursday, April 11 and 12, in St. Teresa.s Catholic Church in Friona, with burial in the Friona Cemetery. Survivors include five daughters, one of whom is Anna Gomez and husband, Alvaro, Sr.; two sons; six siblings; one granddaughter, Melissa Ortiz; one grandson, Alvaro Gomez, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Destynea Martinez; and numerous nephews and nieces, one of whom is Irma Castillo Loeffler of Junction.
