Myrtle Lillian Adams Kiser

Myrtle Lillian Adams Kiser, a beloved mother passed away at her home on June 26, 2004, at the age of 98, surrounded by her children. She was an inspiration to her family and friends because of the love, guidance and courage she gave to us all.
Services were held on Wednesday, June 30, at 2 p.m. in Junction, at Gentry Fife Funeral Home. The Rev. Denny Jackson of Mason, officiated.
Myrtle was born June 17, 1906, in London, to Dave and Emma Adams. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ross Kiser; her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Myrtle was married to George Ross Kiser on February 17, 1924, in Junction, where they raised their children. They moved to Odessa in 1975 to be near their children.
Myrtle’s legacy lives on in her children, Mac D. Kiser of Brownwood, Marvin Kiser and B. J. Kiser of San Angelo, J. D. Kiser, Lloyd Kiser, and Melvin Kiser all of Odessa, Lola Pounders of Gallatin, Tennessee, Eula Tomlison of Hamlin, Stella Leamons of Austin, and Dorothy Baker and Nell Jones of Odessa.
She is also survived by three brothers, Milton Adams of Junction, Willard Adams of Comanche, and Johnny Adams of Carlsbad, New Mexico; eight nieces, eleven nephews, 31 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Betty Jo Shearer Brandenberger

On April 27,1925, Betty Jo Shearer Brandenberger was born in Brownwood, to Perry Otis Shearer and Emma Helen Miller Shearer. She went home to the Lord on Wednesday, June 23, at the age of 79. Betty Jo, at the age of 12, accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized into the Baptist Church.
On July 28, 1946, she married the love of her life, George Brandenberger. They were together for almost 59 years and their marriage was blessed with four children. She was a loving housewife and homemaker and for 15 years a school bus driver for Mason I.S.D.
Betty Jo took great joy in the simple pleasures in life, time with family, walking in the pasture and looking at the grass and wildflowers, or going down to the river and fishing or just listening to the water tumbling over the big rocks. She liked to sit under the big trees and as the scriptures say, "Be still and know that I am God." As she said, "All should love nature and take care of the land because nature is really God and we will go to his beautiful land someday."
Betty Jo is survived by her husband, George M. Brandenberger of Mason; a daughter, Barbara Garner and husband, Charles, of Mason, three sons, Dale Brandenberger of Junction, Billy Brandenberger and wife, Donna, of Brady, and Carl Brandenberger and wife, Kathy, of Melvin. She is also survived by her sister, Patsy Finley and husband, Bill, of Brady, and seven grandchildren: Charla Pitcox and husband, Tracy, Barry Garner, Zane Brandenberger, Colt Brandenberger, Payton Brandenberger, Carson Brandenberger, and McKenna Brandenberger.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Blake O'Dell of the Brady First Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Gooch Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Bierschwale, Bill Martin Jr., Randy Baker, Alec Grosse, Charlie Grosse, and Tommy Bierschwale. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren.

Iris Brill Lackey

Iris Brill Lackey,75, of Kingsland, died Monday, June 21, 2004, in North Austin Medical Center.
She was born in Pensacola, Florida, on May 30, 1929, to Clinton W. and Annie Mae Bailey Brill.
Iris became the bride of Henry David Lackey, Jr., on October 14, 1946, in Monterey, California. She had lived in Kingsland since 1975, and prior to that date, had resided in Llano and Calvert. She was a conscientious bookkeeper and a dedicated employee of Kingsland Water Supply Corporation before retiring.
Iris was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Kingsland, and a member of Kingsland Community Church.
Her survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Hollingsworth and husband, Archie, of Spicewood; one sister, Mary Lou Hahn of Los Angeles, California; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Cason of Buchanan Dam; five grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Kurtis, David and fiancé, Cassie, Holland and wife, Deanna, Rusty and wife, Tracy, and Becky and husband, Shelby; seven great-grandchildren, Loryn, Kendahl, Allyson, Carlie, Darren, Bradon, and Brett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Locally she is survived by Johnny and Sandra Lackey.
Proceeding her in death were her beloved husband H.D. Lackey, both parents and two sons, Michael and Howard Lackey.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 23, at 11a.m. at Kingsland Community Church in Kingsland officiated by Rev. George Belford. Interment followed at Junction Cemetery officiated by Rev. Bill McCormick.
Pallbearers were David Lackey, Ronnie Burns, Reggie Cason, Holland Ligon, Bill Featherston, and Marc Lemmer.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Kingsland Volunteer Fire Department.
Arrangements were by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home in Kingsland.

Rena Bell Jackson Tinney

Rena Bell Jackson Tinney died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Hill Country Care Center. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 19, at Graham Funeral Home Chapel with Ed Glenn officiating. Burial was at Junction Cemetery.
Mrs. Tinney was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
Rena Bell was born to John Monroe Jackson and Lillie Sonora Stewart on July 9, 1914, in Youngsport. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elbert (Ike) Tinney, a son, Noel Tinney, and a daughter, Peggy Welch.
Survivors include four sons, John and his wife, Judy, and James and his wife, Sylvia, of Junction, Glen and his wife, Espy, of Ozona, and Tommy and his wife, Debbie, of Ingram; three daughters, Phyllis and her husband, Pete, of Liverpool, Virginia and husband, Richard, of Christoval, and Rena Bell Tinney Glover Sue of Junction. Two sisters, Lillie Ellis of Harker Hights and Lucille Dennis of Levelland; nineteen grandchildren, eighteen great-great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandchildren.
