Mr. Jack Garner Gardner, a local rancher, passed away May 13, 2004, at his ranch in Kimble County. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at the First Baptist Church in Junction. Mr. Gardner was born on the family ranch at Roosevelt, on August 3, 1932. He attended Peacock Military Institute in San Antonio and Schreiner Institute in Kerrville, prior to his enlistment in the U. S. Army. Jack was well known in the registered goat industry for his fine-haired Angoras. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed deer management. Survivors include his wife, Judith Ann Kothmann Gardner; his son, Gary Gardner, and wife, Robin; and two daughters, Lou Zane Burleson and husband,Todd, and Gina Gardner. Other survivors include five granddaughters Jessica, Whitney and Ashley Gardner and Heather and Harlea Burleson; two sisters, Zane Holland and husband, Rufe, and Billie Shannon Gardner. He is also survived by five nephews, Joseph Conrad, Joe Clay, Cole, Kelly and Gordon and nieces Molly, Jennifer and Julie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Bonnie Gardner and one brother, Joe M. Gardner, Jr. Arrangements were made by Gentry-Fife Funeral Home.
