Ferne R. Searcy

Mrs. Ferne R. Searcy, 91, of Junction, passed away Monday, September 15, 2003, at Hill Country Care Center.
Mrs. Searcy was born in Kansas on May 17,1912. She graduated from high school in Perry, Florida, in 1929, then attended Westmoreland College. On November 6, 1938, Ferne married Albert Searcy in Corpus Christi, and they moved to Junction in 1943.
Mrs. Searcy taught voice and piano lessons and was the choir director at the First Presbyterian Church for many years.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, at Graham Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Barker, Rev. Laurie Barker and Rev. Charlie Dowell officiating. Burial followed in the Junction Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Albert Searcy of Houston; one daughter, Edith Wisehart of Midland; five grandchildren, Lance Searcy of the U.S. Navy, Kristen Searcy of Dallas, Molly Searcy of Houston, Kevin Wisehart of Seattle and Elizabeth Lilly of Lampasas; and one great-grandson, Alex Wisehart of Seattle.
