- Rosie Elsie Smith, longtime Junction resident, died Thursday, August 21, in Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. Born February 14, 1923, Rosie was a lifetime resident of Junction, moving to Junction when she was just two months old. Rosie’s love of life and fierce faith in her Lord will forever live in our hearts. Our “Granny” Rosie loved the outdoors, especially fishing with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. We will all miss Rosie tremendously, but we are comforted by our faith that she is healed and is with her children in Heaven. “God bless you, Granny, and we love you.” Survivors include a sister, Ruby Kinman; brothers, Damon Evans and Junior Evans; granddaughter, Kathy Evans and husband, Charles, of Snyder; grandson, Stanley Dean Kolpak, Jr. and wife, Amber, of San Antonio and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held in Junction Cemetery Saturday, August 23, under the direction of Gentry-Fife Funeral Home.
