The rabies vaccination clinic will be held on Saturday, April 21.
The vaccination clinic will be from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 21 at the Sam B. Coffey Animal Shelter on FM 2169.
Rabies vaccinations by Dr. Larry Brooks will cost $8. Parvo/distemper vaccinations will also be available for a cost of $12.
As an incentive to have your pets registered, the City will have a 1/2 price reduced fee for city registration. The registration fee will be $5 for un-spayed/un-neutered dogs and/or cats and $2 for spayed/neutered dogs and/or cats. Regular City registrations are $10 for un-spayed/un-neutered dogs and/or cats and $4 for spayed/neutered dogs and/or cats. City Ordinance requires dogs and cats to be vaccinated and registered annually. A $25 annual animal fancier fee will be charged if you own more than four (4) dogs and/or cats or a combination thereof.
You will be required to fill out a form prior to registering your pet. You will also be required to provide a copy to the City of Junction of the proof of spayed/neutered pets. If proof is not submitted, you will have to pay the $5 registration rather than the $2 registration.
Rabies is a deadly viral disease that affects the brain and nerves. Humans and pets can get rabies from the bite or scratch of a rabid animal. Humans can also be infected by getting a rabid animal’s saliva in their eyes, nose, mouth or an open wound.
The City of Junction encourages everyone to vaccinate pets and to comply with the City Ordinance.
