-
The western skyline of Junction has a new silhouette. The Best Western Dos Rios is now welcoming visitors to Junction. The motel opened on Friday, March 23, and is located just off Interstate 10 and Highway 83 at 244 Dos Rios Drive.
The beautiful new facility consists of fifty-two guest-rooms, including four suites. All rooms include a refrigerator, microwave, two telephones, free high-speed internet, a work desk, in-room coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Other guest amenities include a large outdoor pool, guest laundry, business center and a full fitness room including a multi-station gym, treadmill, elliptical machine and upright bike.
Guests can enjoy a free, full, hot breakfast in the spacious breakfast room, featuring Texas-shaped waffles with strawberries and whipped cream topping, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pastries, fruit, cereals, juice and coffee. The breakfast room is also available for parties, family reunions or meetings.
The Best Western Dos Rios is owned and operated by Junction Hotel Partners LP. The partnership includes the families of Joe David Ross, Paul Ramsdell and George Alexander. Ross and his wife, Frances, are area ranchers from neighboring Sutton County. He was a veterinarian in and around Sonora and Junction for many years.
Paul Ramsdell of Roosevelt is married to the former Greta Schwiening, daughter of Marcia and Gary Schwiening, also of Roose-velt and longtime ranchers in the area.
George Alexander and his family live in San Angelo operate Alexander Construc-tion and various other business interests.
The partnership also owns and operates the newly-renovated Rodeway Inn in Junction, adjacent to the Best Western Dos Rios. All of the partners are excited and proud to be a part of the community of Junction and look forward to serving the guests of Kimble County for many years to come.
Many individuals were instrumental in the completion of the project, including the members of the Junction Economic Development Corporation and the Junction City Council, who assisted with a grant for infrastructure in the newly-developed area. The grant was based on new job creation and economic impact to the City. Many thanks go to these two entities for their support and assistance. Many local businesses were also helpful, including the Simon family from Roosevelt, who helped develop a very challenging building site! The surrounding business neighbors, Dairy Queen and the Llano River Travel Center, were very patient with the noise and dust during construction and always had a hot cup of coffee and an encouraging word for the workers.
Junction True Value had the wonderful attitude of “anything to help” and provided assistance time and time again. Junction and Kimble County have proven to be friendly, helpful and supportive and the Best Western Dos Rios looks forward to being a part of this wonderful community.
